The combined Australian DFAT and New Zealand MFAT Scholarships and Training Awareness Booth at the University of the South Pacific Open Day at the Alafua Campus today, was busy throughout the morning with inquisitive students, parents, workers and the general public that wanted to know more about available scholarships and the requirements to be considered for a scholarship. The Australian High Commission’s Education and Scholarships Program Manager, Elisapeta Kerslake, was on hand to respond to the numerous enquiries and direct those present to the necessary information regarding scholarships and training offered by Australia to Samoa and the region. The priority areas for study under the Australian Awards are Health, Education, Governance, Economic Stability and Law and Justice. DFAT offers two award schemes through a harmonised partnership with the Government of Samoa. Australia offers up to 40 Australia Awards to Samoa applicants every year. For more information on the Australian Awards go to website australiaawards.gov.au or contact the Australian High Commission at Mulivai, Phone +685 23411.
