The coming week is National Volunteer Week. We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to our volunteers who have made fantastic contributions to the Museum. Our volunteer of this month is Alysha Merrett, here is what she says about her experience with Museum. My involvement with the Museum began in 2012, when I was undertaking a Diploma of Information Management at RMIT, and completed a 15 day internship as part of the course. Prior to this, I had been to China for nine days in 2005, and studied Archaeology. Therefore, I felt the Chinese Museum offered a great opportunity to learn more about Chinese culture and artefacts. During my internship, I was shown how to navigate and add information to the Museums electronic database, as well as photograph items from the collection. It was a great experience, and I have continued to volunteer when available, building on what I learnt during this time. Most recently, I have been scanning photographs and photographing documents, for addition to the catalogue. I have greatly appreciated my time at the Museum, and hope that I can continue to be involved for as long as possible. chinesemuseum.au/get-involved/employment-and-volunteering/
