The common sense of mankind demands that law shall not stop with - TopicsExpress

The common sense of mankind demands that law shall not stop with the punishment of petty crimes by little people. It must also reach men who possess themselves of great power and make deliberate and concerted use of it to set in motion evils which leave no home in the nation untouched. Ghanaians will therefore be looking up to the new NPP government, that is going to be formed after 2016, to embrace the privilege of opening the first trial in the history of this nation, for the crimes we are witnessing today against the people of Ghana. Indeed this trial will impose a grave responsibility because the wrongs which the people are seeking to condemn and punish have been so calculated, so malignant, and so devastating, that we cannot tolerate their being ignored, because it cannot survive their being repeated. June 4 was inspired by greed and hatred and did nothing to restore probity, accountability and social justice. This principle was borrowed to mask their own selfish motives. We are staying the hand of vengeance in order to voluntarily submit these enemies of the Nation to the judgment of the law. This will be the most significant tribute that Power has ever paid to Reason. This is the silent demand of Ghanaians, and NPP dare not fail.
