The composition of the 2015 Murray Cup is likely to become clearer - TopicsExpress

The composition of the 2015 Murray Cup is likely to become clearer in the next couple of weeks according to instigator and CRL Bidgee Region Manager, Dave Skinner. While the confirmation that last years grand finalists and pre-existing clubs, Wodonga and Corowa, will be returning for the competitions second staging is no surprise, news that Westside Brothers, an entity created at the comps birth, are right to go will undoubtedly please expansionists. Less certain is the status of two other teams from last season, CSU University and indigenous team, Murray River Warriors. There is a possibility that CSU University combines with LaTrobe to make University Muddogz. A second meeting is intended where it is hoped the identity of competing teams will become clearer. It is also envisaged that each team participating in 2015 will have a Womens Leaguetag team as well. We are still hopeful of further expansion with the Army being a prime target while consideration has been given to other nearby towns such as Wangaratta, Holbrook and Wagga being garnered for teams, Skinner added. Wodonga Stormz are the reigning Murray Cup premiers, after defeating Corowa Cougars in last years Grand Final.
