The concept for my cartoon book arose from an idea I had to donate a series of cartoons to our local rural fire brigade - Saunders Beach. This book would form the basis of a means to procure funds for the brigade through its sale to the public. It was hoped that we could gain sponsorship for its printing thus allowing all sales to go to the brigade for necessary equipment and running costs. However after 18 months of disappointment no sponsorship was forthcoming. As I was approaching retirement from the fire service I decided to self-publish the book. So in February 2013 we released the book at the Saunders Beach Fire Station with the fanfare of a huge bonfire on the beach. The book is not for sale through retail outlets but is advertised by word of mouth or I sell from time to time at the markets. Here is a couple from the book that contains 55 A4 size full colour cartoons. This is the first time my cartoons have been for sale.
