The concept of FROM HENDRIX TO HIP HOP originated from a late night phone conversation that guitarist Elliot Holden had with fellow guitarist and longtime friend Keith Jenkins (formally of the James Brown Band). While Elliot discussed his attempt to bridge the gap between his rock and hip hop roots, Keith had an epiphany… “why not do a show to demonstrate how Hendrix’s music has influenced today’s urban music and ultimately your own, and call it From Hendrix To Hip Hop”.
