The concept of meeting God in the secret place has been life transforming for me. I believe God has a secret place to meet with us that is tailored for each one of us. Moses did it. He had a secret place that He met God face to face. Exodus 33:7 Moses took his tent and pitched it outside the camp, far from the camp, and called it the tabernacle of meeting.” I believe meeting God in the secret place was the key to Joshua’s success in leading the Jews into the promise land. He went with Moses to meet God and would stay even after Moses left. Exodus 33: 11 So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle. I believe the following passage is explaining the boldness to speak by Peter and John even though they were uneducated and trained. The fragrance of being with Jesus in the secret place will be all over us when we step out in public after spending time alone with Him. Acts 4: 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. Have you asked God to show you the secret place where He wants to meet with you? Below are some verses about the secret place, God being our dwelling place, and the fact that He covers us with feathers as a symbol of hiding us under His protective wings. Psalm 91:1He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. Psalm 91:5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. Psalm 91:9 Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, 10 No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; Matthew 6:6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. NKJ Deuteronomy 33:27 The eternal God is your dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms. And he thrust out the enemy before you and said, ‘Destroy.’ Psalm 27:5 For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock. Psalm 31:20 You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence From the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion From the strife of tongues. Isaiah 45:3 I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden riches of secret places, That you may know that I, the Lord, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel.
