The concept of violence goes far beyond what kind of family environment we were born into. Hopefully at some point we wake up and consciously decide not to participate in violence, be it on a global, national or individual scale. Even with the foods we eat, our societal values and how we treat the most vulnerable amongst us, the way we treat the land and our resources and animals , not just each other.... it all calls for deep contemplation on what violence really is. To me violence is really another word for lack of respect for the world we live in, and each other.
