The condominium Sea Ranch which so inspired New Zealand student architects, we imported architect Charles Moore a year or 2 after the project was built...Chuck enjoyed kiwi beer and no doubt discovered to his delight that some of the Kiwi avant guard had been happily building barnhouses for fanatical-financial clients for years. (The real nouveau rich still built unmentionable monstrosities which are these days being turm down and replaced by mire egregious building errors without the owners having the patience to wait for ivy to grow to hide the edifices. We artichokes never cease to envy doctors who are permitted by lore to bury their mistakes. Each of the 10 studios was 24 x 24 feet, double-story high, built of beams hewn from ancient trees found growing on the 1000 grassy slopping acres...(slopes have since totally inundated b veritable forests of fracked lookalikes) The architects first sketch received a frantic telegraphed response Stop work: it looks like a prison Chick Moores cell wouldnt have run at much of a profit: his friends stayed over for free and he never entertained any thought of selling it.
