The conference in Geneva over the Syrian crisis has ended with no progress after one week of talks. Wide gaps remain between the government and the opposition with each having its own priorities. The Syrian government wanted the issue of terrorism be the focus of talks while the foreign-backed opposition sought to discuss the formation of a governing transitional body. The next round of talks might take place on 10th of February. The only common ground that the two sides found was a minute of silence for the dead from both sides. Was the Geneva II Conference a failure? Why? Is the crisis far from over? What do you think is the solution to the crisis?
