The confrontation between celtic prehistoric Europe and the Roman advancing armies.. This find ,from a wellknown place, discovered in 1909, is the best european example of this clash. A celtic warrior had killed a Roman and took the skull with him as a trophy. These were considered as very valuable in those days. (see the classic Diodorus ) The item was thrown in the river , next to a well known oppidum, when Caesars army arrived. This find is now published . Untill recently this old find was unknown.
