The confrontation has begun. Amama Mbabazi comes face to face with a brutal State he constructed. Critical lessons are prevalent here. Firstly that the State is too weak that it was taken off guard. If you can afford close outdoor surveillance on Besigye, how would you dare relax on Amama Mbabazi? Atleast, the State ought to have been vigilant on Amama if not for any other reason but Amamas security. Secondary, the disposition of the Security officer in issue shows, he was ordered to move and curtail Amama when he was in a bar taking some crude waragi. The security officer appears to be with no security and not sure of his mission largely because of poor briefing. This brings us to the critical area of command and coordination. Certainly, the order is likely to have come from some chap who learnt of Amamas presence at the function when he was in deep sleep and attempted at seeking clearance from Uncle who is far away in Arabia. Thirdly, upon the population standing ground, the State withdrew to the triumph of Amama. Amama has so far appeared in four significant locations; Nambole for Sports that blends well with youths, the Youth marathon and for obvious reasons, Luwero Church, with the historical significance of Luwero Triangle and now Mbarara on a music gala. The function its self is very crucial but what is more crucial is the strategic importance of Mbarara. Mbarara is a vital political and military strategic battle ground. President Museveni cant lose Mbarara in the two definitions and survive. What remains is a sufficient spark to ignite the smoulderings. I have submitted before and I still do that the Nambole processes are the necessary spark. I still maintain Nambole will not take place.
