The conscious mind deals with the external existence and supports - TopicsExpress

The conscious mind deals with the external existence and supports the notion that you are a victim of your environment. The sub-conscious mind deals with memories, behavior patterns and your belief system. The conscious mind for the most part acts alone based on information from the sub-conscious. A great example of this it the "concept" of lying. The conscious mind can utter a falsehood while the sub-conscious knows what it true and that truth is not changed. Another great example is racism - external actions and behavior based on Beliefs In The Sub-Conscious. Which is why you could just say to yourself, "I am not depressed" or "I am not angry" and unless you truly believe that in your sub-conscious it means nothing. We all are creative beings that manifest 24/7, knowing it or not does not change that fact. The first thing that people will say is "well I know I did not create this" or "I would never have done that". This is your conscious mind speaking on an external level. And on that level, given the choice, of course the person would not "consciously" create that. Getting to your sub-conscious on a regular basis and in a sense "re-programing" your belief system is the key to long lasting change. However, keep in mind that the conscious mind is happy with status quo. So, while the process is effective it does take time.
