The coordination suggests that this is a high priority for ALEC in states where strict Voter ID laws have been thrown out--or may be thrown out--by the Courts. Four lawsuits have been brought challenging the Wisconsin law, two in Federal Court and two in state Court. The two Federal cases have been consolidated and trial in those matters started on November 4. The idea is to get a new law, slightly different but accomplishing the same goal of voter suppression, on the books as soon as possible in the event the Court throws out the original. And of course, in time for the 2014 Elections.
