The core of haSatan, duping of man, and how man tells Yah how it is: Dear Jocie, thank you for your e-mail communication about the celebration of Christmas in our society. Although I have never heard a sermon on this topic, it certainly points up that, just as honoring our Earthly Father on his birthday, this horizontal love doesnt have to be dictated to us. Why? Because it is in our hearts to honor our Earthy Father. If we didnt know his birthday, then we would reserve or set aside a day just for him. I heard about a family that had a 102-year old aunt and they had no idea when her birthday was -- but they honored her just the same. How? By setting aside a day just for her. Likewise, the vertical love and honor we hold for our Heavenly Father (Jesus, Emmanuel, which means God With Us, i.e., God in the flesh) isnt dictated in a set of laws, either. Why? Because it comes from the heart. Further, Jesus was the fulfillment of the Law and the prophets -- we now for the past 2000 years have lived under His matchless Grace -- and not the Law. Off the top of my head, some of the verses that come to mind to justify honoring Jesus as He deserves to be honored follow: --The Great Commission And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15 As we know, the two major pushes in our society to reach the world with the gospel of Jesus are...Christmas and Easter. Some people only go to church on these two occasions. Think how many people would never hear the gospel message were it not for these two observances. Although we dont know the exact day of Jesus birth (some say September), the Christmas observance of Jesus birthday was intended to draw attention AWAY FROM the pagan holiday celebrated on that day. And it has successfully done so. Yea! Dont you know Satan is fit to be tied! --Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Matthew 5:14 Yes, every brightly-lit Christ-mas tree is a testimony! --And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. ...John 3:19 In other words, this world we live in will be in utter darkness if we hide the light of Jesus. Wouldnt the devil be thrilled if the light of Jesus was shut down ! --We are to be the SALT of the earth. You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again?
