The core of the evolution of consciousness happening presently is a value shift from one of ownership and domination over the natural world to a mindfulness of our communion with nature and the responsibility held in our economic and production engines. It takes experiential education to grow through the currently reinforced consumerism. The current education and family systems do a poor job of facilitating the development of ecological awareness, nourishment skills, and healthy communication. Creating a system that does these things functionally, utilizing the resources already available in the community, seems like a good place to start.
