The cost of a 16 ounce bottle of water in a market is $1.00, 40% of bottled water is municipal tap water. The cost of 16 ounces of tap water from your sink is 1/100th of one cent (.01). That equals 1,000 times the cost of tap water. In 2007 Americans bought 29 billion bottles of water. Where do the empty bottles of water end up? Why are we throwing our money and resources away? We are a nation of wasters.
