The cost of an entrepreneurs time is much more than the excitement he gets from being in direct control of things. The company starts losing if the people who helped it grow start leaving. The people who leave spread weakness of the company and this leads to difficulty in finding quality replacements. This leads to a vicious cycle where the entrepreneur begins to spend more and more time on day-to-day affairs, instead of focusing on diversification and growth.
