The crazy thing about being betrayed is, you dont just lose trust in people, you begin to doubt whether or not you can trust yourself, your judgement, and your emotions. You get bit by a snake & wonder how you didnt see it coming, so you start blaming love for having you blind. You start resenting your heart because it forced you to feel. You start shutting down more & more each day until even the best parts of you become bitter. & You begin to wonder ... Why lie to me when I was real with you? Why play games with me when I was true to you? Why betray me when I was nothing but loyal to you? You ask & you ask but none of the answers ever make sense. Until it finally clicks. You realize that just because you treat people right, doesnt mean theyll do right by you. You realize that just because youre truthful, doesnt mean you wont get lied to. You watch your friends jump from relationship to relationship, losing their souls trying to force love.
