The crew of Station Barnegat Light routinely trains in the most treacherous weather conditions. Sometimes mistakes are made and lessons are learned. We train to react to what could happen. One instance is a Motor Lifeboat knockdown. During this knockdown there was no damage to the boat or injuries to the crew. They reacted and worked as a team during and after to ensure there was a positive outcome. We train in these challenging conditions to ensure we are at the ready to respond to our platforms and qualified crews capabilities to assist the mariners in our area of responsibility.
