The crisis in Ukraine has been going for many years literally from the day Ukraine became fully independent sovereign state in August 1991 . The crisis in Ukraine is also a deliberate provocation by some extremist elements mainly the pro western elements who wish to join the European Union regardless of consequence with big brother Russia . The Russian government is understandably very concern and nervous about what is going on next door in Ukraine for variety of reasons mainly the security of Russian Federation . The membership of Ukraine to the EU is unacceptable to Russian government and the Russian people for many reasons as well as for protection of the Russian interest in the region which is some thing that the Western powers ignoring the Russia concern on this important issue as such it is causing anger and frustration even consternation among the government politicians . We have enough of wars , crisis ,turmoils and human suffering in many countries around the world and need the Russian help and cooperation to solve the problems but now the crisis is creeping up to the European region which is alarming for many people in Europe that this can easily get out of control and will cause mayhem in Europe after 67 years of peace . There are some politicians on both side that they dont care very much and are not worried about the future and they are here today gone tomorrow but the people will pay the price for the blunders made by the leaders as they have done many times before in history . Russians have changed since the collapse of their old empire in 1991 after the loss of wars in Afghanistan but the Russian federation still is a very powerful country in the world which can do much harm to the world peace if need be . Russia is not Iraq , Libya , Syria or Afghanistan to be afraid or intimidated by any one to be attacked or invasion . The Western powers need the Russian helps and cooperation for many thing to solve the problems around the globe and both need each others help and cooperation to improve the situation therefore the situation in Ukraine is testing the strength of the relationship between the Western powers and the Russian Federation .
