The current Canon mail-in rebates expire on January 3rd, 2015. We now have more info on the Canon rebates that will begin on January 4th. We are told the most popular items will see a significant drop in rebate (and thus an effective price increase): Rebate on EOS 5D Mark III and kits drops from $300 to $100 Rebate on EOS 6D and kits drops from $300 to $100 Rebate on EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM II and EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM drops from $150 to $100 We are told almost all items will have their rebates slashed or eliminated altogether. Historically, the November/December timeframe has been the best time to buy Canon, as we see the largest rebates of the year.
