The current escalation by Israel is a planned exercise geared toward bringing down any chance of a peaceful solution and truce with any of the Palestinian governments including and potential of making Hamas appear like a legitimate government. The deaths of the Israeli teens is just an unfortunate political excuse to increase the attacks of an on going military strike on a civilian population. The Israeli government is unable to move towards peace and continues to use the Israeli fears to win support for its immoral acts. It keeps the dream alive for American Jews of an ideal world exclusive of other religions, a dream that cannot exist in this modern world of tolerance and inclusion. At the same time these same people fight for equal rights in the US for immigrants and members of the LGBT community. Ironic. So the root to peace in the middle east is not negotiations, but rooted in the hearts of Israelis and American Jews who continue to push for this injustice to continue. So to all my Israeli and Jewish friends, it is up to you, what will you do?
