The customer enters. Their eyes are immediately drawn to the sales signs. They gasp in disbelief, and look to me for confirmation. I feel sick to my stomach. I nod as if to say, no, thats not a misprint. That smug grin Ive seen countless times before begins to crawl across their face. I brace myself for what I know is about to come next. Time slows as the customer takes their next breath. Please dont do this to me again. Wow... Oh, no, here it comes. That is such a... Wait, Im really not prepared... GOOD PRICE. Thats it. Its happened. At first no-one notices, and I think that maybe well get through this... It begins as a snicker and a smirk at the back of the pharmacy. It doesnt take long to spread. The laughter has soon engulfed all persons in immediate ear shot. This is bad, therell be no stopping it this time. I am so angry at the customer for doing this, but I cant see anything beyond the endless tears. Im double over in hysterics, but I pray that death comes soon How could they do this? Still spreading throughout the streets, the audible sound of peoples sides literally splitting can be heard from space. Theres no hope for us this time. Weve not adapted to withstand jokes of this calibre. Everyone I knew and loved... gone. Earth is lost. The customer is the only survivor. They leave with a look of utter content, and various discount pharmaceuticals. ...and that was my day at work
