The cut that flatters everyone. It all started with the post we did about cuts to clear the shoulders (just how great is that summer breeze on your neck?), and a slew of our clients and celebs chopping off their hair for the new year. The bob has taken over the red carpet - and for good reason, as its flattering on almost everyone. Every face shape and every hair type can work a bob! But how you get it cut matters. Its all about the texture towards the ends with layers in the back to give a lived-in messy look that doesnt look too perfect. That will modernise your cut and keep you looking cool and effortless. Were massive fans of the bob here at Vault Hair and weve all taken the chop ourselves. A big beauty change is something that tends to pick up momentum in December and January. Not only is the height of summer but its the beginning of a new year, and fresh starts go hand-in-hand with new a new look. Its been almost five years since Id had a drastic change, and I think the summer heat and the flood of posts on here about people getting the chop inspired me, Tien, one of our first-time clients, said in todays session. Not just content with chopping off the length, Tien went one step further; she donated her hair to the Beautiful Lengths program (lgfb.org.au/get-involved/pantene-beautiful-lengths/). This project takes hair donations and makes wigs for women undergoing treatment for cancer. Being able to donate my hair to make wigs for those in need was a great motivator as well. Im happy my locks will be going to a good home! Here, Tess, our Creative Director, went for a crop with subtle layers at the bottom for nice, natural movement which encourages her natural waves. Cutting it with a centre part gave the style symmetry and gives Tien the flexibility to flip it either side (a la Lara Bingle bob perfection - well, she did score Sam Worthington!)
