The daily zeal of a Christian is not to be conformed to the philosophy of the world and its idolistic trends of vanity,but it is to be more like Jesus Christ in word and deed,in reverence and holy living unto the Lord.Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit,after the tradition of men,after the rudiments of the world and not after Christ (Colossians 2:8).For as many as are led the by the Spirit of God,they are the sons of God (Romans 8:16).I beseech you therefore brethren,by the mercies of God,that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice,holy,acceptable unto God,which is your reasonable service.And be not conformed to this world:but be ye transformed by renewing of your mind,that ye may prove what is that good,and acceptable and perfect will of God (Romans 12:1-2).The character of the redeemed saint of God should be goodness,humility,patience,perseverance,love,honesty and meekness,all these rich attributes should be evident in the radiant inner-life of the Disciple of Jesus Christ.The Apostle Paul mentioned the fruit of the Spirit to the Galatian saints and said The fruit of the Spirit is love,joy,peace,longsuffering,gentleness,goodness and faith.Meekness,temperance:against such there is no law.And they that are Christs have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.If we live in the Spirit,let us also walk in the Spirit.(Galatians 6:22-25).There is a vast quantity of believers who are walking after the flesh,who have suffered in the dark pit of spiritual dryness because of a lack of genuine fellowship with true believers,their prayer life has been severely bruised and withered,they have mingled in the deceptive pleasures of the flesh,seeking to entertain their bodily appetites.Let us pray for those that are struggling in the faith,let us be patient towards them as we preach the Gospel of peace to them,trusting the Lord for their repentance and restoration.Now we exhort you,brethren,warn them that are unruly,comfort the feebleminded,support the weak,be patient toward all men.(1 Thessalonians 5:15).The Bible warns us about the dreadful dangers of walking after the flesh,we are instructed to walk daily in the Spirit.For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh;but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.For to be carnally minded is death;but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Romans 8:5-6).So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God (Romans 8:8) Will you choose to no longer walk after the flesh today?will you not please God and walk in the Spirit? For if ye live after the flesh,ye shall die:but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body,ye shall live (Romans 8:13) For the wages of sin is death;but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23)
