The danger of not declaring a kafir to be a kafir.. Nowadays we have some who claim that we cannot call the kuffar, kuffar. Such people need to fear Allah lest they fall into kufr akbar. THE KUFR OF THOSE WHO REFUSE TO MAKE TAKFIR ON THE NASARA AND YAHUD (Christians and Jews), AND OTHER KUFFAR/MUSHRIKIN.. Al-Qadhi ’Iyyadh Al-Maliki (Rahimahullah) says in Ash-Shifaa 602-603/2; وقال نحو هذا القول الجاحظ وثمامة في أن كثيراً من العامة والنساء والبله ومقلدة النصارى واليهود وغيرهم لا حجة لله عليهم .. إذ لم تكن لهم طباع يمكن معه الاستدلال وقد نحا الغزالي قريباً من هذا المنحى في كتاب التفرقة ، وقائل هذا كله كافر بالإجماع على كفر من لم يكفر أحداً من النصارى واليهود وكل من فارق دين المسلمين أو وقف في تكفيرهم أو شك ”And likewise this statement, which Al-Jaahith of Thumamah (says) regarding that many of the general people, women, old men and blind following Nasara and Yahud and other than them, that Allah hasnt got any Hujjah (proof) against them... Because they dont have what is needed to prove [Istidlal] (the truth of Islam etc.) And Ghazaali was (also) close to this tendency in the Book At-Tafriqah. And the one saying all of this is Kafir by Ijma regarding the Kufr of the one who doesnt make Takfeer of any of the Nasara and Yahud and all who are different (Faaraq) the Deen of the Muslims or who stop concerning the Takfir of them or doubts.” He says in the same book 610/2; ولهذا نكفر من لم يكفر من دان بغير ملة الإسلام من الملل أو وقف فيهم أو شك أو صحح مذهبهم وإن أظهر مع ذلك الإسلام واعتقده واعتقد إبطال كل مذهب سواه فهو كافر بإظهاره ما أظهر من خلاف ذلك ”And therefore we make Takfir of the one who doesnt make Takfir who practice other than the Millah of Islam from the different Milals (religion/ways) or who stops regarding them or doubts or recognizes their way (madhab) to be Sahih (acceptable). And this even though he shows Islam (Athhara) and believes therein (Itaqadahu) and believes (Itaqada) every other way (Madhab) besides it (Islam) to be false (Baatil), then hes Kafir because of what he has shown that which shows the opposite of this (meaning him not making Takfir of those for which Takfir is due).” Abul Husain Muhammad Ibn Ahmad Al Asqalani (died; 377 hj.) said; The mutazilah of Baghdad and Basrah and all of Ahl al Qiblah (the Muslims, the sunnis and bidiy people), there is no Ikhtilaaf (dispute) between them concerning, that the one who doubts regarding the Kafir then he himself is a Kafir, because the Shaak (the doubter) concerning Kufr theres no Iman for him, because he dont know Kufr from Iman. So theres no dispute between the Ummah, the Mutazilah and other than them; That the Shaak (the doubter) concerning the Kafir, is Kafir! [Tanbih wa rad ala Ahl Il Ahwaa wa Il Bida 40] ~ A.U.
