The day 19th January 2015, was by all account my best day so far - TopicsExpress

The day 19th January 2015, was by all account my best day so far in the year, I was at Minna airport to welcome Nigerias hero and our pride, the pride of Everyman who wish to see Nigeria United and peaceful, General Muhammadu (Dagba) Buhari. While waiting and chatting with couple of friends on the run-way, I heard a loud chant from a huge crowd outside the run-way, if not for the fact that we all knew General Buhari was expected to highlight from a plane which clearly none has landed at the time, one will have thought it was the General who was been cheered loudly by large number of supporters. For a moment I was confused, I know not any politician in the state from the opposition who has gathered that much support and love from his people, on a second thought could it had been the APC gubernatorial candidate? No, because he was also on the run-way with us waiting for the General, his partys presidential candidate. At the sight of a car which can rarely be seen because supporters were all over it and in large numbers, it became impossible for one to see who was inside, luckily I got a chance to get close and it was a land cruiser Toyota jeep with Niger State Goverment plate number, and I became more confused this time, who could this possibly be?. Before my confusion gets deeper, the crowd started shrieking Ibeto Ya shigo jirgin chanji loudly as it could get, meaning Ibeto has entered the ship of change, that moment I felt like I was going to cry, the support was so natural and genuine. The APC gubernatorial candidate, Alh Abubakar Sani Bello (Abu lolo) himself couldnt hide the joy as he rushed to hug the Deputy Governor Ahmed Musa Ibeto, when I saw them hugging, my dream for a better Niger State, for a more developed Niger state grew bigger and the possibility for my dream to be brought into the day was achievable, with these great men now in the same party I knew deep inside me change is truly coming. In my capacity as an aspiring journalist, I got the chance to interview him, my first question to him was sir! You have just defected to Apc, what is the reason behind this? And he replied we all saw what happened during the primary election in my former party, we had primary election which was not inline with the partys regulations, there was clear violation of that guideline, we made representation to the national headquarters, we waited for justice to be done and unfortunately nothing happened, I cannot be a member of a political party who disrespect and violet its own rules, so I consulted with my supporters and we have decided to defect from injustice to justice Ive sat and deeply thought about this, why is PDP hunting away their best? Why are they destroying the little credibility left for them?. PDP has become a party that intimidates, harass and unjustifiably discrediting its political potentials at the expense of endorsing mediocre and greenhorns. With these developments and the momentum APC is gathering everyday, is now safe to wish PDP good bye in Niger state, the wind of change is blowing, get into the ship of change or get blew away, the choice is yours. As for me this is where I stand. NIGERIA SAI BUHARI!!!! NIGER SAI ABU LOLO. May God Help us All
