The day gets started with the Southeastern Health Family Fun Mile at 10:00 am, which is a FREE event open to the entire family. Over the years it has continued to grow and we often see over 1,000 children lining up at the start and finishing with a smile. The event also includes a Southeastern Health sponsored 5K on that Saturday, and multiple sponsored Bike Rides on Sunday - all winners receive awards of original pieces of artwork, but there is a lot of money up for grabs in the overall, masters and grandmasters categories ($2,700 IN PRIZE MONEY). Of course, the Rumba is much more than a couple of races - it is also a festival featuring tons of food and the Bud Light Chili Cook-off, one of the largest in North Carolina.
