The death has been announced of a former Deputy Senate President in the second republic Da Sen John Wash Pam who passed away on Thursday at the National Hospital, Abuja as a result of an illness. He was 73. And less than 24 hours after the death of Senator John Wash Pam, Plateau State lost another prominent son, Col John David Dungs. Rather unfortunately Col Dungs was preparing for his father’s burial before his sudden demise. In like manner, the first civilian Governor of Kwara State, Adamu Attah is also reported to have died. Together with the sad bombing of Nyanya and for a second time in less than 3 weeks, we join their immediate families of victims, the government and people of Plateau and Kwara States as well as the FCT and indeed the entire Nigerian nation in mourning their departure to the great beyond. While praying for the repose of their souls, may the good Lord grant us all the fortitude to bear these irreparable losses.
