The death on Saturday of ‘Blame Me’ in the hurdles at - TopicsExpress

The death on Saturday of ‘Blame Me’ in the hurdles at Trentham, Wellington, the first casualty of the season, is an example of the cruelty inherent in jumps racing. ‘Blame Me’, a 10 year old veteran fell badly, suffering injuries to the right fore shoulder and he was put down at the track. SAFE is monitoring the death rate of the 2013 jumps season – any number of deaths for this so-called sport is unacceptable. You can call for the Minister of Racing Nathan Guy to ban it outright by emailing him at [email protected]. Find out more at safe.org.nz/Campaigns/Jumps-racing/
