The death tax is a burden to family farms, ranches, and small businesses. We are taxed more than enough while were alive, and our children shouldnt have to worry about selling off part of the family land just to pay more when we pass away. This tax hurts rural economies and still stops one of America’s most important means of capital formation: building a family enterprise. That is why on the first day of the new Congress, I introduced a simple, two-page bill that would permanently and fully eliminate the death tax. Ive introduced this bill several times before, and I will continue to push until the tax is eliminated.
