The death toll continues to rise (now over 50) in the western district of Bundibugyo following Saturday afternoon attacks by people believed to be either ADF rebels or a new rebel group. Reports reveal that the attack at the Bundibugyo police station left the officer in charge of the station killed. The sources added that the attackers after attacking the police station went and attacked a UPDF barracks in Bundibugyo. Preliminary information indicate that the majority of the dead are the attackers [rebels]. On the other hand top security officials have travelled to Bundibugyo tonight and more details will be reported as they trickle in. Belatedly the death toll in Kasese has risen to six. The dead include a police officer a UPDF soldier with his two children and other two yet to be identified.
