The decision has been made in Ferguson...right or wrong it us up - TopicsExpress

The decision has been made in Ferguson...right or wrong it us up to all of us as human beings to take the opportunity to look hard at how we will be judged ourselves, to how we react. This is America, this is our home. We need to respect our homes and communities by behaving like HUMANS, we have a capacity for compassion and fairness and have the capacity to know what is the right way and the wrong way to react. The disappointment one might feel does not justify the destruction and damage and violence that comes through anger and hatred...At the center of non-violence stands the principle of love-Martin Luther King, JR....Anger is the enemy of non-violence and pride is a monster that swallows it up- Mahatma Gandhi....In some cases non-violence requires more militancy than violence- Cesar Chavez...Gather together in protest, but without anger and hatred, gather together in protest with knowledge and righteousness. You can show your disappointment, you have a right to protest...but do it with respect to your homes and communities and families and neighbors. I feel for all those involved, especially all my friends down in St. Louis. I wrote this song after reading an article about all the problems down in Ferguson. The article stated how historically speaking that St. Louis and its surrounding areas have never had anything quite like that happen. Every major city in America basically has had riots and racial turmoil but somehow St. Louis escaped it all these years. They used a quote from the comedian and activist Dick Gregory, he was quoted years ago when asked the question why hasnt St. Louis had riots like the rest of the country? His answer was, weve got shade trees! Then the article closed by saying the shade trees didnt work this time....here is the the song called Shade Tree
