The decision of Govt. Of India to increase the number of seats by 50% in 10 year old Medical Colleges is a very good decision in national interest.This is a step forward in removing the shortage of Doctors in the country.To day, when technology is being used in a big way worldwide to provide education, why it is not being used in Medical Education and why the Teacher vs Student ratio has not been changed from what is was several decades ago?MCI was never interested in changing this as it always wanted a situation where shortage exists so that it can indulge in massive corruption.We have seen some action by CBI recently.However, a lot remains to be done and Medical Eeducation needs a lot of cleaning.In fact it requires a surgical operation.We expect a lot more from reconstituted MCI and Govt. Of India.
