The definition of success is different for everyone but if you - TopicsExpress

The definition of success is different for everyone but if you have never defined what success means to you, how can you expect to get there? Over the Thanksgiving Holiday I encourage you to write out 6 definite goals or at least brainstorm on paper what success means to you in your life. There is a great analogy that is often used by “success seekers” in order to figure out exactly what they want to create and here it is- If you had one hundred million dollars in your bank account but you only had 10 years to live what would you do? The answer to this question is your lifes purpose. There is only one life to live and the answer to this question is the most important thing you could ever know. The answer to this question should be your ultimate dream and you should be always designing your life in such a way so that you are constantly pursuing this. There is no excuses. If you have children, you can still pursue your dreams. If you are over 40, you can still pursue your dreams. If you have to hold a “J.O.B.” in order to pay the bills, you can still pursue your dreams by using “block time” after you get out of work. Do not buy into the hype that says, “you are getting a little older ya know?” “ you dont have the same amount of energy you used to it might be time to settle down.” I will never forget about 10 years ago I was working a “J.O.B.” and someone actually said that to me. I wanted to puke! I mean I really almost puked! I thought he was joking.... Unfortunately he wasnt. It was a small town” mindset that said pursuing anything out of the “status quote” was being “irresponsible.” This is just dead ignorant. We live on a huge planet and whatever it is you want to do, someone has got to do it. How do you think they got there? People don’t know what they don’t know and they don’t mean to hurt you when they say these things. When they do, they are either a little threatened OR they are trying to give you their best guidance at the time. The person who said that to me was a really awesome guy and I know for sure he did not mean it in a derogatory manner. I am just grateful that I have incredible family members that always understood my way of thinking. That “status quote” way of thinking is disempowering, useless hyperbole and energy comes with inspiration not age. No matter what age you are, figure out who you want to become and how you would like to live the rest of your life. Then write it down! This may just be the very best thing youve ever done for yourself. As I have stated before, writing out your goals is extremely powerful. It sets the subconscious mind on purpose and actually increases motivation. A while back I personally wrote down some goals, then lost the paper. I eventually found the paper a few years later and to my surprise, I was living the very goals I wrote down 2 years prior. This has happened to me more than once in life and I have heard of other goal oriented people having the very same experience. This is an example of how powerful writing down your goals can be. If writing down our goals is so important than why isnt everybody doing it? That is a good question and I believe it is a flaw within our educational system. Ive told you the stats that say less than 3% of Americans have written goals, and everybody else works for them. Writing down your goals will streamline your power and optimize a part of the mind within the reticular cortex known as the RAS, or [Reticular Activating System]. The Reticular Activating System is our brains filter which allows only a certain amount of stimulus into our conscious awareness. The subconscious mind never stops working, even while we are asleep. Once we write our goals down and get clear, it allows the RAS to filter in the proper stimulus relevant to attaining our goals. You see the resources are out there but the mind needs to be conditioned properly so it can recognize the recourses that were not normally noticed or seen before. Also, success is often a moving target so we must remember to savor the journey. There is no finish line or goal post to attain. We are here as humans to procreate, contribute and grow and we were meant to find our bliss within the PROCESS of becoming greater. Recourses do not disappear they change form, money does not go away, it changes hands. Yes it depreciates but only relevant to other currency or the silver and gold that backs it up. You are living within the most exciting years we have ever seen. With modern technology there is an unlimited amount of recourses abound for anyone who is willing to take complete control of their lives. Your time is right here, your time is right now and it is 100% up to you how you will use the resources around you. Yes, there are tons of recourses around us every day, this is America!. These recourses are there to help us design our lives to our liking. Nobody said it would be easy. We must stay open, proactive and most of all, enjoy the process along the way... I am so much in the spirit and I truly love what Thanksgiving stands for because it is all about gratitude and gratitude is the most powerful emotion. : ) Have a great day today! Sincerely ~B
