The demand and supply of the annual KCCA festivities. the festival understandably was funded by government to a tune of over 1bn( is this supply sustainable?). the question is why KCCA? Mbarara municipality ( My sooner than later constituency), might come knocking. May be the answer is because KCCA is under the minister for presidency. I guess those who have read the Poor Economics: A Radical Rethinking of the Way to Fight Global Poverty by Abhijit V. Banerjee, Esther Duflo. They describe the the poor’s economy and how the poor make careful decisions based upon their perceived realities and priorities. For example, the fact that some poor choose entertainment over nutrition / poverty. We are partly poor because we choose too. Dont get wrong, once in a while, we need entertainment and celebrations but at same time, we need an economic appraisal of some of our entertainment choices.Just random thoughts. Your contect might add to this debate.....
