The democratic process is clearly broken when a community like Athens is forced to be represented by nationally recognized ultraconservative wingnuts like Paul Broun and imminently, Jody Hice. We may have grounds for a legal challenge of gerrymandering if Jody Hice wins the district but loses by a massive margin in Athens. Athenians arent being represented in Congress and I suspect there have been and may continue to be economic consequences for our city.
