The deplorable actions of burning churches, allegedly by the supporters of Muslim Brotherhood, in various parts of Egypt cannot be justified in any circumstances. We all, regardless of our ideological and political affiliations, must condemn this heinous act. Places of worships are the center of peace and harmony and must be respected and protected. However I must add here that some rulers of Islamic countries, especially undemocratic rulers, have a long history of adopting this tactic of creating religious and sectarian animosity just to divert world’s attention from their unauthorized rule. There is every likelihood that these actions were carried out by Sisi’s thugs. But whoever did that, we all must condemn this categorically and should never ever try to defend these actions in any manner whatsoever.
