The desire for justice, which is the basic instinct for every human being that is essential for survival could either make us or sadly speaking break us. People around me often express their dissatisfaction towards their family, company or government. Such emotions of discontent are meant to drive us towards creating a better community. But many because of the hurts of the past could not cope with it. As a church Pastor, I often witnessed people turning against their own community in retaliation and breaking it. God has called us to be change makers and to be instruments of God for change; to speak the truth in love; to be quick to listen and slow to speak; to bring out the best in everyone. God uses a weak person with a strong spirit to create change. The likes of Aung San Suu Kyi who was under house arrest for 18 years and the 16 year old child activist: Malala of Pakistan.... They did not speak with resentment despite being violated and shot, but with love and tolerance they looked past the need to fulfill their own justice for the justice of all. Jesus Himself was unjustly treated in order to justify humanity. The road to change though necessarily long but brings true justice to the community. If the emotions of injustice is channelled constructively for the well being of all, we will do just fine.
