The difference between SOCIALISM and FREE-MARKET CAPITALISM and its relation to LEGALISM and GRACE. SOCIALISM: The Robin Hood Mentality: Taking what is NOT MINE and giving it to you only because it makes me feel good. However, I have no desire to give away what is mine. FREE-MARKET CAPITALISM: The Individual Responsibility Mentality: I have an individual, moral obligation to give what IS MINE to you. That obligation is motivated by the compassion in my soul as a result of my consistent intake of Bible Doctrine: the academics, mechanics, and mandates of the unique Christian way of life, and the absolute standard of truth and morality. SOCIALISM equates to LEGALISM: Doing things by my own human merit apart from the filling of God the Holy Spirit, only to satisfy my sin nature. FREE-MARKET CAPITALISM equates to GRACE: It is not my own doing but WHAT GOD DOES THROUGH ME. Grace is the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man [through the Person of Jesus Christ]...not by works of righteousness which we have done.
