The difference between being an individual believer and being a member of the corporate Christ. ==== Yesterday, we looked extensively at the Body of Christ and we learned about membership of the Corporate Christ. Ephesians 4:13 talks about the Body growing into a full grown man. In other words, the Body of Christ is made up of individual Christians or believers. A christian may decide to stay alone, but the consequences are so high because he will be prone to the attack of the enemy. Being a believer and staying on your own is something individualistic and every christian must be delivered from that. The corporate body is what Christ has called us into to function as one body. I have watched many times on TV documentary and noticed how the lion will always go after its prey. Once any animal strays away, the lion will lunch an attack and the result is always very successful. The same thing in our kingdom. Once you are alone, you are prone to the attack of the enemy. Therefore being a member of the body of Christ by participation especially in your local church is what Christ has called us into. When this happens, the christian will no longer live for himself, but for the Body. It must be an experience. This will make you appreciate others and therefore humbles you to understand that you are not better than others. When the pastor ministers from the pulpit, the congregation responds with Amen, a shout or a clap showing participation of members in the same Body of Christ. This is the reason that no one should by any means despise other members thinking that some are more useful or better than others (1 Corinthians 12: 14 tru 36). Therefore to be body conscious is key. This will enable one to see Christ as a place and correct the impression that the church is in ones heart as believed by so many Individual christian today. May God help us to be fully integrated by membership in the Body of Christ. Amen
