The difference between producing a beat and producing a song is in the arrangement. If a bunch of unique, really awesome things happen once or twice within a track sparingly, itll make the listener crave those little turnarounds that much more. If you give them the best parts of the song too often or all the time, they take them for granted and skip on to the next track. Thats why a lot of instrumentals without emcees get boring (and why I have a hard time calling my beat CDs albums)...
