The disease of [Me] addiction is a sniper of happiness thats always seeking the High ground. Its goal is to take out any positivity that we see and feel within us. It requires us to be caught up in stuff on the outside, to distract us from generating love and happiness from the inside. Its bullets are doubt, isolation, judgmentally, comparing out, silence, guilt, shame, fear, anxiety, resentment and hurt. Those kind of bullets have away of leaving us down and wounded within ourselves. I say this not as a matter of theory but real life experience. If we want to live happily and as the person we want to be, we could... if we wanted... remove the opportunity for [Me] addiction from reaching the High Ground. What gives me a kind of real-life Bullet-time, like Keanu Reeves in the Matrix is having a wide ranging spiritual practice. It renders those bullet far less effective, or miss altogether and we live a lot happier. The reason is, spiritual practice has taught me to get better to live in the present, instead of the past and future so much. Practice has taught me to start out by learning to like myself, that grew into learning how to love myself. These tools arent vague or abstract... theyre clear... many and varied... and they all can work... it just takes patience, time, communication and skillful application. ~Love, Serve & Re-Join Yourself
