The dispensation of the grace of God By : Dov Avnon We are living in a strange world. There many people who never heard the clear gospel of their salvation and so there are many Bible believing people who never heard about the dispensation of Grace that Christ gave to Paul. Many even do not know any more the meaning of the word “dispensation” which you will find in the preserve word of God. 1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, Paul is telling us now why he became prisoner :. Acts 28:20 For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain. 23:6 But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question. Act 23 21 Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day. Acts 24 2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: From that prison Paul ask the holy one and the believers if they “heard of the dispensation of the grace” If they heard that Christ gave to Paul set of new truth concerning a new body of believers “The Church “ which is His body. Christ from heaven revealed first to Paul all about the obedience of the Gentiles NOT through Israel. If ye have heard This is very important question. From the very beginning that Paul was saved, read acts chapter 9. Christ revealed Paul step by step all about this dispensation of Grace. Only in Paul’s letters we will find the teaching That Christ gave to the Church. Is it not strange that many do not wish to know more about: the dispensation of the Gods grace 3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; as I wrote afore in few words, Those are clear words and everyone should know it: How that by revelation. Paul did not receive the dispensation of grace from Peter, James or John ! The apostles to the circumcisions but by revelation. 11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. 12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Gal 1 Paul remind them about this important truth that he already write them in his first letter. So when we are talking about the dispensation of the grace of God just remember what Paul is saying For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Gal 1 Those are important words – all the truth that Paul write in his letters Romans till Philemon’s. Known and un known truth. All the reference that he made to old testament scriptures are part of this revelation of the mystery that Paul just said: For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Gal 1 4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) when ye read – Why are so many people do not have knowledge in the mystery of Christ one of the major reason is. They do not take God in His word. They never learned the different between the revelation of the mystery as Christ gave to Paul and the gospel of the kingdom and later to the circumcision that Christ gave to His 12 apostle and Peter James and John. So we must read it and not just listen to what People say about it. Read it and take God in His word. Many believers are able to read and yet they do not understand why? The answer is very simple. Many preachers are teaching that the words of Christ when He was on earth are much more important than the word of the same Christ from heaven. People are little bit brain washed in their thinking on this matter. 5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; COLOSSIANS 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints EPHESIANS 2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in [his] kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. Paul is speaking about truth that was not known before. Some confused his words as it was that all the components of that truth were also not know. This is not true. Paul mention many facts and use many scriptures from the old testament and yet all this together is a part of the mystery of Christ that was not known until Christ gave to Paul. Paul use few time the phrase BUT NU in order to tell us about the different ROMANS 3:21 but now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets ROMANS 6:22 but now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. ROMANS 7:6 but now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not [in] the oldness of the letter. ROMANS 16:26 but now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith EPHESIANS 2:13 but now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 2 TIMOTHY 1:10 but is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel Paul is telling us that the dispensation of Grace that Christ gave him was not known before. You can never read outside Paul letters about Gods purpose to put Jews and gentiles in one and the same body for His glory. 6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: Here we can read in few words the purpose why Christ save Paul and which secret purpose He gave him. That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: GALATIANS 3:29 And if ye be Christs, then are ye Abrahams seed, and heirs according to the promise. ROMANS 4:14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect Till the dispensation of grace came, everyone knew that only the seed of Abraham in the flesh , the nation of Israel, are the heirs of Gods earthly promises. Paul is not talking here about Gods earthly promises or the gospel of the kingdom. Christ gave Paul gospel that say that now through the gospel of God’s grace any Gentiles or Jew who believe that Christ died on the cross. The holy spirit put both of them in the same body with heavenly position. 7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. 8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; You see how Paul make it clear that Christ made him to be minister. It was according to special gift. Just read Paul first letter to the Church (Galatians) and you will read that he received this by revelation. Paul did not learn anything from Peter, James or John. It was Christ and only Christ who through different revelation who told him about this secret purpose of God.. What is the unsearchable riches of Christ; You will find today many so called grace believers who like to change the meaning of those verses to look like that if Paul mention somewhere old testament reference. It cannot be part of the unsearchable riches of Christ; this is not more than a misleading conclusion. Just read what Christ told Paul and you will have the clear answer. COLOSSIANS 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory Christ in you, the hope of glory - all Paul letters without any different are dealing with this purpose that was never known before. Read Genesis through Malachi or the so called 4 gospel account and you will never learn anything about this secret purpose that Christ first gave to Paul. Dear reader when Paul wrote the Churches : 1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, Rom 1:1 it was because to him and only to him Christ gave the ministry to go and preach the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; 5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: 6 Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ: Rom. 1:5 to make all men see 9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: Now when you know what is the mystery, you should ask yourself what should you let people see ? The fellowship of the mystery are not just the few verses where Paul mention the word mystery. The fellowship of the mystery is a complete teaching as we find in Paul letters that show any man on this plant how God is dealing with people under the dispensation of grace. the principalities and powers in heavenly Our gospel is not just for the people around us. The gospel is not only to save people. The gospel as Christ gave Paul is to show all the heavenly powers the wisdom of God. 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 1 cor 2:7 You see it is only through Paul letters that we came to know Gods purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord. It is only through Paul letters that we understand how God is working today under the dispensation of grace. This mean that if someone is not willing to rightly dividing the Word of truth and to let all man see what is the fellowship of the mystery. That this someone is not really care about what God is doing but more about his religion. In close my prayer for all of us is: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak - Eph 6:18
