The driver who collided with a seven year old boy on the Marine Drive Pier Sunday evening before crashing through the railing and landing in the water near the entrance to Blaine Harbor has been identified as 54 year old Whatcom County resident Allan James May. May’s vehicle, a 1993 Toyota pickup, was located by rescue divers Monday, and salvage efforts are being made today to bring it to the surface. May’s body was found Monday on the shoreline of Peace Arch Provincial Park in British Columbia, and the BC Coroner’s Service has assumed jurisdiction. The seven year old boy suffered serious injuries to both of his legs and remains at Harborview.
