The earth shakes, yes, when a big tree falls!, Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, but your understanding of the then socio-political scenario was appalling. Your mother was not any big tree that you thought she was. The Golden Temple and Akal Takhat is surely a massive tree indeed planted and nurtured by some of the greatest farmers in humankind history; from Baba Sheikh Farid, Sheikh Bhikhan Shah, Bhagat-s Kabir, Namdev, Ravidas, Ramanand, the Gurus and others. Your mothers was an attempt to chop at the tree with an axe she wasnt trained to not was big enough to even hold. Her story is more akin to chop ones own foot off! It is also time to respect that for te Sikhs in Punjab to go on a rampage after the ruthless massacre and rape of thousands of Sulh across the country would have been devastating and they, the Sikhs did not! Indira Gandhis is a story of betrayal of its own people. The story of the Sikhs who have lived as the dignified second to none citizens of this nation is a story of patriotism; of objectivity; of forgiveness; of magnanimity; of graciousness. Perhaps the Sikhs understand that it is not motherly to hurt the children of the children - a way of life they saved over centuries. Thankfully they seem to be taught and soilt well by the likes of Bhagat Kabir, Bhagat Ravidas, and Guru Nanak Shah Faqir!
