The ebola outbreak in the SLIGHT BEN countries of western Africa is the deadliest strain of the virus -- yes, there are more than one variety, so theres even more reason to be concerned -- called Ebola Zaire, named after the river in central Africa where it was first identified. How did the virus find its was clear across the continent without anybody noticing, though? Thats been a question scientists and medics have been pondering since the first cases were reported in Guinea several weeks ago. Somebody, however, has now proposed an idea of how the virus spread so far and so wide: air travel. And were not talking regional airlines, here. Think warm-blooded fliers a lot smaller than humans and which *do* get around....
