The economic empowerment of women is important for development! When it comes to the empowerment of women in India, it is essential to understand the need to offer equal opportunities so that the nation is positively driven towards progress and development. Women act as ideal supporters in all respect, and especially in the impact of a nation\'s economic growth. Health and education of women and girls in India have remarkably improved in the past decade. There have been countless cases in the recent past witnessing that how women are catching up in parallelism to the men folk. However, despite the fact that women withstand with their individuality and are tossing open challenges to the boys, there has been no real progress in terms of economic opportunities offered to women. Womenfolk in India are always expected to follow up men in every sphere. Varying from education to entrepreneurship and from revenue to inheritance, women are seen deprived of appropriate opportunities and preferences. This truly goes against smart economics. Contrary to misogynist mindset, investing in women does not limit but triggers development in every sphere and will eventually have a positive impact on the economic growth. Needless to say, women can actively participate and positively contribute to the economic affairs of India. Besides economic status, womenfolk can also lend a helping hand in overcoming poverty campaigns and rapid development projects. Economic crisis does pose diversified risks for womenfolk. It is when economies begin to crumble and women have to suffer terribly. The job loss and unstable income affect women because it becomes difficult to deal with the household budget and neither can they seek any assistance from micro-finance institutions because they are not employed. Moreover, women are powerless to enjoy privileges of schemes initiated by the government. Those who wish to get back to their work again have no option and are ultimately, pushed into subsistence work. Girls are in a way compelled to be withdrawn from schools and are asked to comply the household work. At times of crisis and when families need to tighten their belts, girls are more likely to get affected. It is essential to facilitate womenfolk and girls with free primary education up to their graduation level. Earnings should definitely be upgraded via better access to credit lines and agro based economy contributions amongst a host of other measures. Moreover, initiatives should not be confined to drafting process only; rather the campaigns and other initiatives should definitely be implemented to pave a concrete way for integration of the economic empowerment of women.
