The ego is one of the most destructive aspects of unconscious humanity. On one end lies the obsessive compulsion to find faults with ourselves and others. This usually manifests in habitual complaining or gossiping about others so that we can feel better about ourselves, while make others seem inferior. On the other end is emotional, mental and physical violence that gives justification for hatred of others and war between nations. In order to silence the ego, we must become conscious of the narrative it plays repeatedly in our minds and lives. Once we become conscious of it, we can stop the egoic soundtrack and listen for the stillness that lies in all of us. The quiet stillness of peace, harmony and love. Only then will we rise above our lower nature and create a world of the divine. True love is eternal, infinite, and always like itself.
